Registering & Appointments
How do I register?
You can register quickly using our online form. It only takes a few minutes (here)
Do I need an NHS number to register?
No — you can still register without one. We’ll help you get set up.
Can I stay registered with my home GP?
We recommend registering with us while you’re at university so you can access care more easily when you need it.
How do I book an appointment?

Yes — let us know your preference and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.

Your Health & Care
What can you help me with?
We support a wide range of health needs, including:
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Sexual health and contraception
- Short-term illnesses (e.g. infections)
- Long-term conditions
- General health advice
Can I get help with stress or mental health?
Yes. University can feel overwhelming at times — we’re here to support you and can offer advice, treatment, or referrals if needed. You can also access support from your university counselling service.
Medication
How do I get repeat prescriptions?
You can request repeat prescriptions online. You may need a review appointment with a clinician depending on the medication you are requesting.
What if I already take regular medication?
Please arrange an appointment when you register and bring details of your medication (and clinic letters). Also bring enough medication to last until your first appointment.
Can I get prescriptions during holidays?
Yes — we can usually send prescriptions electronically to most locations in UK (excluding Scotland).

Confidentiality & Privacy
Will my parents be told about my appointments?
No. Your care is confidential, even if you are under 16. We will not share information without your permission.
Can I speak to a doctor on my own?
Yes — you can always request to speak to a clinician privately.
International Students
Can international students register?
Yes — we welcome international students, please see our International Students page (here)
Will I have to pay?
GP appointments are usually free if you’re entitled to NHS care (e.g. if you’ve paid the Immigration Health Surcharge). Some services, like prescriptions, may have a cost.
When You Need Help Urgently
What if I need help outside opening hours?
Call NHS 111 for urgent medical advice when we are closed.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.
