Insomniacs in England to be offered app treatment instead of sleeping pills
Patients may have seen in the news recently that some insomniacs are to be offered app treatment instead of advice on sleep hygiene and sleeping pills. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) are recommending Sleepio as an alternative, which uses an artificial intelligence algorithm to provide patients with a digital cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).
