Supporting your son or daughter’s healthcare at university
Should they register with a GP near university?
We recommend registering locally so they can easily access care when needed. We can also arrange referrals to nearby specialists. It’s helpful if they bring any recent medical letters and book an initial appointment with us.
What about medication?
Please ensure your son or daughter brings enough medication to last until they can see a clinician here. They should book an appointment to review any ongoing prescriptions.
Can I be involved in their care?
Once they are 16, we need their consent to share medical information. Many students choose to give this, and it can be arranged easily. You are always welcome to share concerns with us if needed.
During holidays
We can continue prescriptions and send them to most locations across the UK (except Scotland).
If you have concerns
You can contact us via our online consultation service (please put in link), and we will ensure their GP is informed. While we may not be able to share details without consent, we will always take your concerns seriously.
We aim to provide safe, confidential, and supportive care to help your son or daughter stay well while they are away from home.
