Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS)

Pharmacy

We are working with local community pharmacists to provide a service of care to our patients. If you contact your GP surgery with a minor ailment, they may book you in to see a pharmacist. This new service supports practices and ensures patients are seen by the right healthcare professional and will help to make more GP appointments available for those with more complex needs.

This service is beneficial to our patients as you may be given an appointment quicker and given the clinical advice and support needed. There is strong evidence that advice given by community pharmacists about minor ailments, results in the same outcomes as if the patient were seen by a GP or attended A&E.

You will be asked a series of questions which will determine if you are eligible for this service. You will then be referred to the pharamacist who will contact you that same day by phone, the consultation will either take place over the phone or you will be booked in for an appointment with the pharmacist.
